F2F SPSP Small Grant Concludes, Releases Case Study on the Improving the Sustainability of Malian Sheep and Goat Farming Project

The Browse and Grass Growers Cooperative (BGGC) received a small grant through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Volunteers for Economic Growth Alliance (VEGA) Farmer-to-Farmer Special Program Support Project (F2F SPSP) for volunteers to train Malian sheep and goat farmers in improved nutrition, breeding, health, and livestock management techniques.

According to research, small ruminants (sheep and goats) in Mali struggle to meet their basic nutritional requirements. Through this project the BGGC, a Wisconsin-based cooperative, deployed 11 volunteers to conduct research; provide trainings; and offer additional advice to smallholder farmers in Mali to achieve the aforementioned objectives.

Upon its recent conclusion, the project presented a case study on its findings. Click here to view the case study.
